This would probably have more stars if the basic premise held up. Russ has no insurance for his son's surgery. Um...but his wife was killed on active duty less than a year ago. As the widow of an active duty member, he would have Tricare for both himself and his son. He would have had the death gratuity, 100,000 also if she had SGLI insurance a possible additional 250,000. He would have the death pension and a the basic housing allowance would have continued for a year too. That actual research took me thirty seconds. Bad research makes me nuts and ruins too many books. Research your military details.Product details

Devoted Sierra Riley Books Reviews
I loved jake and russ and the whole family (especially little ryan). This is a story of two people falling in love with each other, one coming to terms with his sexuality and a sweet child thrown in the mix. These always make for a good story and this one never failed the mark. Fantastic.
I loved the bond that Russ and Jake have. You could feel the emotions Jake had for Russ, love that had been unspoken and unanswered for years. There is a bit of angsty back and forth due to their long standing friendship and a lack of clear communications, but it isn't over done. Sweet ending.
Adult read
It was okay. I loved the concept, so the blurb reeled me in. There was a disconnect for me somewhere. I’m thinking it was probably in the dialogue, but I’m not sure.
Russ and Jake have been friends since college along with Russ's deceased wife and their son Ryan. After Claire's death, Russ is emotionally lost and financially on the edge. So when his son ,Ryan is injured in a team game and his bills immediately begin to accumulate, Jake steps in and gives his friend a small amount of financial hel
The title is very accurate considering my feelings for this author. I love her work. I love how she creates situations and tension, but also makes sure you feel good by the end. And she doesn't rush the happy ending.
Jake have been in love with his best friend Russ since college, but Russ and their mutual friend Carrie fell in love and started a family. Jake have stood at the sidelines watching the man he's loves get married and become a father to Ryan. When Carrie dies , Ryan needs surgery and Russ is in financial trubbel Jake gives Russ the option of a sham marriage so Ryan can benefit from his insurance.
The road from friends to lovers is beautiful.
I am completely captivated by this author. I think this story between Jake and Russ was magnificent. I liked the back story of them being in college and staying friends beyond that. I loved that Jake was also great friends with Russ's wife and was there for him and Ryan when she died. This author is quickly becoming one of my go to authors, that is a very exclusive list. I like the approach she takes to her subject relationships and different situations. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK!!!
